Giraffe is a licensed general contractor and real estate development practice dedicated to enhancing the livability of urban environments.

Focusing on high-density neighborhoods, urban infill sites, and hillside lots, we are reimagining the Los Angeles home through a diverse series of ground-up housing typologies. From custom houses and ADUs to multi-residential, live-work, mixed-use, and affordable housing, our projects foster human connection and respond to the city’s evolving needs.

We oversee every stage of development with the intent to create thoughtful density that is both financially viable and socially impactful. Working across acquisition, entitlement, construction, and operations, our firm integrates strategy with design intent from the outset. This streamlined process ensures a unified vision, shorter construction timelines, and lasting value for both occupants and the community.

JOSEPH SHARAF

Joe is a builder with over 15 years of experience in construction and development.

After earning his Bachelor of Architecture from USC in 2010, he began his career as a designer at MADA s.p.a.m. in Shanghai before returning to Los Angeles to work with WET. He later served as a Project Manager at SBE and most recently as VP of Construction at Larian Development.

In 2016, Joe leveraged his uniquely broad base of expertise in architecture, construction, and real estate development to found Giraffe.
